Exotic Asteroids and Comets of the Solar System and Beyond

Bryce Bolin Staff Scientist at Eureka Scientific

New technology in astronomy has resulted in the discovery of many new asteroids and comets in our solar system. Some are species of asteroids and comets that have never been seen before, such as interstellar comets from other stars, and minimoons, temporary tiny moons of the Earth. These asteroids and comets are telling us new things about the birth of our solar system and the history of our moon. In this talk, I will discuss some recent exotic asteroid and comet discoveries, what we have learned from them, and what they mean for future solar system discoveries. Come and learn about what’s out there, and how much more we have yet to find in our cosmic backyard!
